Demand to print Rate per Kilo / liter on food articles
Mumbai, Oct 3:A delegation led by Mr. Jagdish Purohit of Mumbai Consumer Welfare Association and Indiapress met Mr. C. R. Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, and demanded that food items package should display per Kg/Liter price on the packet.
Delegation told that in today’s competitive and fast changing world lot of consumer goods are available in the market with different packaging and characteristics and in that scenario it has become very difficult for consumer to decide. In fact to survive in this competitive market lot of companies are offering goods of non-standard size and as per Weight and Measurement Act, 1977 (Packed Commodities) they have to declare the same on packaging that packing are of standard size or nonstandard size.
As per the memorandum given to Minister that manufacturers used to manipulate the rules by packing goods with gas and giving impression that it contains more products and much cheaper then their competitors. And as per the rules govt. cannot take any actions because they are doing business under the rule.
In the memorandum they requested to the central govt. that per KG/LTR rate should be displayed on package very clearly so consumer can decide in much better way. The delegation memebers who presented the memorandum to the Minister on Saturday includes Rajesh Rajpurohit of Akashvani Radio, Pukhraj Dudu and Sharvan Choudhary.

खाद्य सामग्रियों के पैकेट पर प्रति किलोग्राम दर या प्रति लीटर दर अंकित करने की माँग
मुंबई। मुंबादेवी कन्जुमर वेलफेयर एसोसिएशन और इंडियाप्रेस का एक प्रतिनिधिमंडल जगदीश पुरोहित के नेतृत्व में सी. आर. चौधरी, केंद्रीय राज्यमंत्री: उपभोक्ता मामले, खाद्य और सार्वजनिक वितरण; वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग से मुलाकात करके खाद्य पदार्थों के पैकेट पर उसमें रखी गई खाद्य सामग्री का प्रति किलोग्राम दर या प्रति लीटर दर अंकित करने की मांग की।
प्रनिधिमंडल ने कहा कि आज के प्रतिस्पर्धा के दौर में आज की तेजी से तरक्की करती दुनिया में विभिन्न पैकेजिंग और विशेष गुणों के साथ बाजार में कई उपभोक्ता सामान उपलब्ध हैं, इससे उपभोक्ता के लिए निर्णय लेना अधिक जटिल हो रहा है। दरअसल, बाजार में प्रतिस्पर्धी बने रहने के लिए, विनिर्माण कंपनियां ऐसे उत्पादों की पेशकश कर रही हैं। इन उत्पादों के विनिर्माता घोषित करते हैं कि उनका उत्पाद "वजन और माप (पैक्ड कमोडिटीज) अधिनियम, 1977 के मानक 'या' वजन और माप (पैक्ड कमोडिटीज) अधिनियम, 1977 के मानक के तहत गैरमानक आकार (नॉट ए स्टैंडर्ड साइज) का है।"
ज्ञापन के मुताबिक विक्रेता इस नियम का दुरुपयोग करते हैं और अधिकतर पैकेजिंग वायु या गैस के साथ करते हैं, ताकि खरीदारों को झूठा विश्वास हो सके कि उनके पैक में अधिक सामग्री है, और वे खरीदारों को यह भी विश्वास दिलाते हैं कि उनका उत्पाद प्रतिस्पर्धियों की तुलना में अधिक किफायती मूल्य का है। लेकिन घोषणा के चलते अनुपालन एजेंसिया कुछ नहीं कर सकती हैं, क्योंकि विक्रेता कानून का पालन करते हैं।
ज्ञापन में केंद्र सरकार से अनुरोध किया गया हैं कि वह इस अनुचित कारोबार पर अंकुश लगाने और विक्रेताओं को उत्पाद के प्रकार के अनुसार पैकेट पर "प्रति किलोग्राम दर" या "प्रति लीटर दर" साफ-साफ अंकित करना सुनिश्चित करें। इससे आम आदमी इस बात से वाकिफ होगा कि वह खरीदे गए उत्पाद का उसकी मात्रा आकार के अनुसार सही भुगतान कर रहा है या नहीं? इससे उन्हें किसका उत्पाद खरीदें किसका नहीं यह निर्णय लेने में आसानी होगी।
केंद्रीय राज्यमंत्री को शनिवार को ज्ञापन देने वाले प्रतिनिधि मंडल में आकाशवाणी रेडियो के राजेश राजपुरोहित, पुखराज दूदू और श्रवण चौधरी शामिल थे।
